London 2012 is not only the largest sporting event ever hosted in the UK, it is also a major business undertaking, requiring products and services from almost every sector, including construction, manufacturing, professional services, tourism, communication, hospitality, sport, transport, retail, food and creative media.

The games are predicted to generate 75,000 supploy chain opportunities, with an independent forecase by Lloyds TSB estimating that London 2012 will boost British business to the tune of £21bn, of which £4.4bn will be shared between the Northwest and the North.
