Congratulations to Dream in St.Helens on winning the Public Realm category in this year’s Northwest Tourism Awards held in Manchester on 29th September.
Dream is the spectacular, internationally significant landmark sculpture sited on the former Sutton Manor Colliery in St.Helens that starred in the prime time Channel 4 Big Art TV series. Commissioned by ex-miners and St. Helens Council, the sculpture reflects the aspirations of the local community to create a beautiful, inspiring, and contemplative space for generations to come.
Dream was also selected by Visit England in August to launch PIQAS – Places of Interest Quality Assurance Scheme. Consumer focused, PIQAS helps to identify strengths and highlight development areas and is a valuable management tool for all places of interest and small attraction operators.
