LILA, once known as Liverpool International Language Academy, is celebrating the opening of its new £300,000 learning and training centre in Liverpool city centre.

LILA, formerly located on Anson Street, has now moved to New Barratt House on North John Street. The new premises provide the perfect environment to educate and train students from both the UK and overseas.

Established in 2004, the LILA team remains committed to offering international students the best possible education and ensuring that students receive a true British experience while visiting the UK. Building on success in language training, LILA is now offering vocational and professional qualifications to local people as well as interpreting and translation services to the business community.

Liverpool's popularity with overseas visitors who want to learn English continues to grow thanks to its rich cultural heritage, trendy bars and multi-national vibe.

LILA Director Leanne Linacre explained: "Bringing overseas visitors to Liverpool adds to the city's cosmopolitan feel, as well as adding to Liverpool's thriving tourist trade. Overseas students love everything Liverpool has to offer and they often want to return. The students enjoy taking part in our eventful social calendar as it gives them the opportunity to make friends and experience parts of the city they may not have discovered by themselves."
