Innovation Award for Liverpool Convention Bureau

Liverpool Convention Bureau – which is part of TMP – has scooped an Innovation Award at the conference sector's leading trade event in London.

The award was presented to Liverpool Convention Bureau as part of the three-day International Confex event held at Earls Court last week. The Innovation Award recognises the destination's latest campaign, the Delegate Welcome Scheme. The Delegate Welcome Scheme focuses on what is unique about Liverpool as a conference destination, in a bid to make it the most delegate-friendly.

The scheme was launched at Confex by Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager Carol O'Reilly and Jacquie Rogers, General Manager of BT Convention Centre Liverpool. They unveiled a billboard at the event, which promotes Liverpool as a destination for conference organisers who "want the world‟.

It acts as a commitment that the city will provide a memorable welcome that delegates will experience before the event, during their journey to the city and throughout their stay. It also builds on the warmth and friendliness of the people of Liverpool, which the destination is already so well known for.

Carol O'Reilly, Liverpool Convention Bureau Manager at TMP, commented: "As a conference destination, Liverpool prides itself on providing the very best delegate experience possible, and the biggest vote of confidence we can receive is for delegates to return as leisure visitors in the future.
