Liverpool Tourism Awards 2009


 

More than 370 guests gathered to celebrate excellence in Customer Care at the 7th Annual Academy Ambassador Awards.

The gala evening hosted by the Academy of Excellence in Customer Care in Association with 08 Welcome took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool on Thursday 5th February 2009.

The awards recognised the outstanding examples of customer care delivered by individuals working in the city to the millions of visitors and customers during a uniquely historic year for the city in 2008.

This year proved to be the most successful to date with record number of nominations being received for each of the 13 categories and an ever wider range of organisations nominating their staff/colleagues.

This year's event was jointly headline sponsored by City Talk and Liverpool ONE, with speeches delivered on their behalf by Dean Sullivan Presenter on City Talk and by Chris Bliss Estate Director Liverpool ONE.

This years winners were as follows:

Apprentice of the Year - Daniel Norton (Progress Sports)           

Arts / Culture Staff - Mathew Critchley (Tate Liverpool) 

Bar Person of the Year - Danny McNeil (Alma De Cuba)   

Chef / Cook of the Year -Martin Cooper (Delifonseca) 

Family Friendly Award - Debbie Goldsmith (Tate Liverpool)                   

Reception Staff of the Year - Kelly Shaw (The Feathers Hotel)      

Retail Assistant of the Year - Anne Clayton (Flannels)

Student of the Year -   Jurgita Kinduryte (Crowne Plaza Liverpool)                 

Tourism Support, Transport and Leisure Staff -  Thampi Jose (Merseyrail)

The Unseen Hero Award  -  Jenny Byfield (Crowne Plaza Liverpool)     

Visitor / Events Assistant -  Stephanie Green (Liverpool Empire Theatre)                      

Waiter / Waitress of the Year -  Tom Ford (Delifonseca)

08 Welcome Award - Christina Dixon (Jurys Inn Liverpool)
