Local Tourism Awards

The five Local Tourism Awards - Wirral Tourism Awards, St Helens Tourism & Leisure Awards, Southport Ambassador Awards, Halton Tourism & Business Awards and Liverpool Ambassador  Awards - recognise and reward people working in the tourism and hospitality industry. They focus on excellence in customer service delivery and seek to showcase the work undertaking by the many people both front and back of house e.g. Best Waiter/Waitress, Unseen Hero, Chef of the Year etc.

The Local Tourism Awards are an ideal opportunity to recognise and reward your staff. Just nominating someone helps with motivation, staff morale, and aids retention in the workplace. It also provides industry role models and helps to raise the profile of your business.

Each year, one 'Winner of Winners' from each of the five Local Tourism Awards along with a representative from Knowsley is selected to be nominated in the Outstanding Customer Service Award category at The Mersey Partnership Annual Tourism Awards

How to apply

Each Local Tourism Award scheme has its own application form, which must be completed by a given date each year. A shortlisting process then takes place and three candidates or businesses are selected for judging in each category. Judges visit each candidate/business from the shortlist and assess them against certain criteria. A winner is then selected.

You will be asked to make an assessment of others working in the industry and to be fair and objective in your evaluation. You may only judge outside your own disctrict to prevent any conflicts of interest arising.
